Shikha Jhingan

Associate Professor at the Department of Cinema Studies, School of Arts and Aesthetics, Jawaharlal Nehru University. 

Her research work focuses on music and technologies of sound dispersal across diverse media platforms. Her work brings a sound studies perspective to Bollywood films and their intermedial footprints. She has published articles in the journals Seminar, Bioscope: South Asian Screen Studies and Feminist Media Histories and several book anthologies. Her most recent article has been published in A Companion to Indian Cinema by Wiley Blackwell (2022). She is currently working on her book manuscript on the female voice of Bombay film songs.
