    “Hey Nijame” Song

In this romantic song, Lekha and Raghu are seen enjoying their moments of love together. It was shot on a whirlwind 3-day shooting schedule. The first half of the song remains predominantly indoors and frames the leading pair’s intimate romance amid the beautiful artificial light of the plush interiors of a star van replete with red carpets and leather couches. This scene cuts to similarly lit interiors, maintaining lighting continuity, of the Bodrum Castle where the heroine dances amid the imposing white pillars of the castle’s interior, which is part of the sets of the film-within-the film set. The Bodrum Castle, also known as the Castle of St. Peter, stands erect since 15th century on a rocky peninsula set between two sheltered bays in the port city of Bodrum, Turkey. This Gothic architecture castle sustains structures such as the moat, a large ravelin, harbour battery and tower, forecourt, inner gatehouse, chapel, and inner bailey. A minaret and Turkish hamam were later added to the building. There are splendid views from the battlements of the castle. Presently the castle's uniqueness lies in the fact that it houses the Museum of Underwater Archaeology, one-of-its-kind in the world, where ancient exhibits are restored to life. Items are creatively displayed like information panels, maps, models, drawings, murals, and dioramas.

The second half shifts dramatically outdoors and moves through predominantly bright and sunny skies against a spectacular blue of the sea and white of the surrounding architecture. We see the heroine of the film (she is also the heroine of the film-within-the-film) dressed in sunny western clothes and a hat, rising exhilarated from an outdoor bench, framed against a dazzling blue sea. This is the outdoors of Turkey’s Bodrum Castle. During her shoot she is distracted by a few text messages that announce a “package full of love waiting for her at the hotel”. As she rushes back in anticipation, a long shot of the hotel corridor mirrors the blue and white theme of the sequence. As she descends the stairs painted blue, waiting for her is her lover, played by Dhanush, dressed in dapper blue shirt, white trousers, and grey blazer. He rests against the white walls and stretches out his arms to her. Their passionate embrace cuts to a medium long shot of the pair running hand in hand on a wooden jetty of the bay that overlooks the sea in the background. This is the private jetty of a resort on the Torba beach bay. The scene cuts to the lovers kissing in the foreground as a spectacular blue seascape dominates the frame.  With the lilting song in the background, the scene shifts to the hotel interior where the lovers are seen in romantic close-ups through a fluttering window curtain, the sea and a few white beach houses in view. This is followed by more shots of the lovers framed against more enchanting sea views as they eat, drink, and share lovers’ laughter, walking through the brick-laned alleyway of one of the quiet markets. The walk ends at the Bodrum City Ebow Café Bar, where the lovers are framed in silhouette in one of the nooks that overlooks the bay.
